A moment of relative peace in the Black Crown

This turned into as much of an experiment in drawing three-dimensionally angled objects as it was just a random attempt at drawing Duke and his canonically unnamed store manager.

I have this fascination with drawing Duke with his hair mostly or sometimes completely out of the ponytail. This was one more style.

And the store manager, that snarky fellow in episode #46 (Duke's first episode) who calls Duke "Dukey-boy" and totally gets away with it.... Gah, I want to know more about him! I wish other people would be even half as interested in him as I am. I've watched his and Duke's scene in both English and Japanese and am left with the distinct impression that they know each other very well and are very relaxed and accepting of each other. I think I'm the only one who ever writes about this intriguing friendship (except for a friend of mine who occasionally dabbles in it).

I'm assuming this scene here somehow takes place after my long and angst-filled fic Lead Me Through the Fire, as in my timeline, it was then that Duke started not always wearing the ponytail.
